The Creative's Struggle & Hustle
Updated: May 23, 2020
Grab some coffee or tea and come sit with me for a few minutes.
Sometimes we need to take a mini break to clear our minds, release some built up energy or connect with someone that understands the struggle. Trust me, I understand the struggle of the goal digger, the entrepreneur, the creative, and the hustler. We are all working hard to create that dream life, that amazing career or whatever vision you are trying to manifest for yourself. But sometimes it seems like we are falling behind in this rat race called life. I am here to remind you of something you have heard a thousand times before, "Rome wasn't built in a day" or the trending woman empowerment quote, "Beyonce wasn't built in a day".
Great things take time
Let's take a step back and understand why I decided to write this blog as the FIRST blog post on my website. It is because it has taken me 6 months to carve out the time to write my welcome blog for my site. It is because it has taken me almost 9 months to create this website that I have been "launching" on Instagram since the beginning of the year. It is because the struggle is real to stay on top of not one, but 2 small businesses and keep some semblance of a functioning personal life. It is because, no matter what stage of the game you are in, we all have struggles in this hustle game as entrepreneurs and creatives.
We are all winging it at times
I relaunched SaRatta Speaks (as determined by my first post on my Instagram - Sept 23, 2017) last year and my vision was to have an fully operating boss coaching business within 6 months or less. I had a few things mapped out and I knew I wanted to create an online source for women to log on and dive into how to create and build an empire. I had already learned from so many successes and failures with expressions bracelets so I assumed that this would be a walk in the park. What I did not account for was the STRUGGLE of operating a start up and a rapidly growing business, simultaneously, with just a couple of employees and a virtual assistant.
Now hear me out, I wouldn't change this struggle for any other career in the world, this has been an AMAZING journey to date. I have learned even more about business and managing the operations of two businesses that I will share with you as we grow SaRatta Speaks. But it has been a learning experience to pace myself, PLAN, PLAN, regroup, PLAN some more and then put things into action.
The key to achieving a goal is having an actionable plan
So here we are, me talking to you about the struggle that we all know and have a love - hate relationship with. But I am here to encourage you to embrace the struggle, trust the process and enjoy the journey.
Trust your dopeness
Over the next few weeks I will post a blog a week about The Creative's Struggle & Hustle. I will cover various aspects of social media, business branding, stress and time management along with a few other topics. I will be very transparent in my journey so that you know you are not alone, and every step you take toward achieving a goal puts you one step closer to where you want to be. Keep in mind, Success is not a destination it is a continuing journey, so enjoy the ride.
Let's build your empire
